Panama City and Panama City Beach (rated America's #1 beach in 1995) are located on the Gulf of Mexico in the panhandle of Florida between Mobile, AL, to the west and Tallahassee, FL, to the east. Panama City is serviced by its own international airport (Delta and Northwest) and is accessible by several major highways easily linking this vacation paradise to the cities of the southeast, central, and western states. Known for its mild climate and its beautiful sugar-white beaches, Panama City is a wonderful vacation destination. Surrounded by the protected water of St. Andrews Bay and the open water of the Gulf of Mexico, Panama City is ideal for learning to sail in different types of water and conditions. Plus, Panama City has some of the most spectacular emerald green waters you will find anywhere in the world! Learn more about the Panama City area by visiting Visit Panama City Beach or Panama City Beach Guide.
The Keys are known for warmth, sunshine, and nearly perfect weather year round. Due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream and the Gulf of Mexico, the Keys have a mild tropical-maritime climate where the average summer and winter temperatures rarely differ more than 10 degrees. The July high is around 90 degrees. The January low is 63. That makes the Keys a terrific destination and sailing ground anytime of the year.
