Capt. Jeremy, born and raised near the Texas Gulf Coast, always had a passion for the sand, salt, and seas that coastal life offers. After traveling the country he settled back down on the Gulf Coast to follow his love of sailing. As a born adventurer, sailing was a natural fit.
Capt. Jeremy learned to sail on a sunfish and eventually larger boats in Kemah, Texas. Small boat sailing, and dinghy cruising consumed his life and Jeremy made the jump from Corporate America to Reef Runner Sailing. Having successfully managed large teams of managers for a Fortune 500 company while successfully creating several small start-up businesses, Jeremy combines those talents and passions to focus on managing Reef Runner Sailing.
Capt. David first learned to sail on the lakes of Texas where he was raised. He soon learned that water was in his blood and so pursued his career of sailing and diving by moving to the coast and then to the Cayman Islands. In the Caymans, David spent his time as a PADI Scuba Instructor and running dive boats. Plenty of Catamaran sailing and then on to larger sailboats got him ready for his ASA Instructor certification.
David moved to Key Largo to enjoy some of the best diving the US has to offer. David lives just a few short miles from John Pennekamp State Park, dive and snorkeling capital of the Keys. He would love to teach you to sail and guide you on your exploration of the park and the Florida Keys. David is excited to have been voted an ASA Outstanding Instructor.
Capt. Jay first learned to sail as a child with his father on a 22ft McGregor in Rochester, NY. He grew up spending family vacations sailing throughout the Thousand Islands and beautiful Finger Lakes Region. Capt. Jay regained his passion for sailing in 2010 after pursuing a college degree and successful career as a mechanic engineer. He has since cruised extensively, both singlehanded and with crew, with a love for The Bahamas. Chasing the love of sailing and a dose of adventure, Capt. Jay earned his USCG Captain's license and ASA sailing instructor certifications and now shares his knowledge and passions with other.
Capt. Jay travels extensively and teaches in Key Largo,FL and Panama City,FL. With a healthy knowledge of all the nooks and crannies of the Keys he's sure to show you something you never knew existed.
Capt. Pete & Tish, founders of Reef Runner Sailing in 1999, decided it was time for a new course and turned over the helm to Jeremy in the fall of 2017. While they remain actively available to the current team, they are focused on Yacht Sales in and out of the Panama City area. They hope to stay in touch with the numerous students and friends they’ve come to know over their many years of sailing. If you are interested in buying or selling a boat, or just want to say “Hello,” don’t hesitate to drop them a line or give them a call!
