Meet Our Crew
Capt. Jeremy, born and raised near the Texas Gulf Coast, always had a passion for the sand, salt, and seas that coastal life offers. After traveling the country he settled back down on the Gulf Coast to follow his love of sailing. As a born adventurer, sailing was a natural fit.
Capt. Jeremy learned to sail on a sunfish and eventually larger boats in Kemah, Texas. Small boat sailing, and dinghy cruising consumed his life and Jeremy made the jump from Corporate America to Reef Runner Sailing. Having successfully managed large teams of managers for a Fortune 500 company while successfully creating several small start-up businesses, Jeremy combines those talents and passions to focus on managing Reef Runner Sailing.
Capt. Anderson is a USCG captain and ASA certified instructor who grew up on boats. His enthusiasm is contagious and his love of the water translates to his students.
Anderson started his teaching career at the locally renowned St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club in Panama City teaching young sailors the love of dinghy racing. He has delivered and crewed on vessels up to 75' in length plowing the waters of the entire eastern US coast. Anderson is a seasoned inshore and offshore sailor whose abilities you will both appreciate and enjoy.
Capt. David first learned to sail on the lakes of Texas where he was raised. He soon learned that water was in his blood and so pursued his career of sailing and diving by moving to the coast and then to the Cayman Islands. In the Caymans, David spent his time as a PADI Scuba Instructor and running dive boats. Plenty of Catamaran sailing and then on to larger sailboats got him ready for his ASA Instructor certification.
David moved to Key Largo to enjoy some of the best diving the US has to offer. David lives just a few short miles from John Pennekamp State Park, dive and snorkeling capital of the Keys. He would love to teach you to sail and guide you on your exploration of the park and the Florida Keys. David is excited to have been voted an ASA Outstanding Instructor.
Capt. Robbie is the newest addition to Reef Runner Sailing and Reef Runner Boating. After years of fishing on powerboats, from small skiffs to extreme mega-yachts, Robbie brings a lifetime of experience on the water to help us expand our offerings. He has grown up on the waters around Panama City and knows them as well as anyone, plus he has spent years of tournament fishing at Ocean Reef near Key Largo. All of this makes Robbie a valuable addition to the Reef Runner team as he will be splitting his time between both Panama City and Key Largo.
Capt. Valerie has been on the water in some form or another her entire life. She is an experienced sailor who holds a USCG Master's License and is an ASA sailing instructor. Valerie has sailed extensively in the Caribbean including the British Virgin Islands, Grenadine Chain, Trinidad and Tobago as well as Greece and the Florida coast. Valerie runs Custom Sailing Ltd. which provides our custom sailing vacations in Greece and the Caribbean. Valerie would enjoy sharing her enthusiasm, knowledge, and love of sailing with you on your next sailing adventure.
Capt. Pete & Tish, founders of Reef Runner Sailing in 1999, decided it was time for a new course and turned over the helm to Jeremy in the fall of 2017. While they remain actively available to the current team, they are focused on Yacht Sales in and out of the Panama City area. They hope to stay in touch with the numerous students and friends they’ve come to know over their many years of sailing. If you are interested in buying or selling a boat, or just want to say “Hello,” don’t hesitate to drop them a line or give them a call!
