Sharing a Passion,

Living the Dream

Reef Runner Sailing School, established in 1999, is an American Sailing Association (ASA) accredited school offering sailing instruction for the beginner to advanced sailor.  We have successfully been teaching sailing for over 20 years.  Our classes consist of a proven and successful curriculum for teaching the fundamentals of sailing or advancing your hard earned skills.  Our goal is to provide a relaxed sailing environment with enthusiastic instructors.

The Fleet

Reef Runner Sailing operates a variety of vessels in its fleet.  Each vessel is matched to the specific itinerary and requirements of the particular crew, course, or activity.  Vessels are normally fully equipped monohulls in the 25 to 40 feet range.

Our Locations

We operate out of our home base, Panama City, for all types of sailing all year round. During the summer months, we operate charters and sunset sails out of midcoast Maine. During the winter months, we bring one of our boats to the beautiful Florida Keys for classes, charters, and sunset sails in Key Largo. To sail with us, please choose your location:

Captain Jeremy

Capt. Jeremy, one of ASA's 2020 outstanding instructors of the year, is the owner and primary captain for Reef Runner Sailing. Born and raised near the Texas Gulf Coast, he has always had a passion for the sand, salt, and seas that coastal life offers.  After traveling the country he settled back down on the Gulf Coast to follow his love of sailing.

Capt. Jeremy learned to sail on a sunfish and eventually larger boats in Kemah, Texas.  Small boat sailing, and dinghy cruising consumed his life and Jeremy made the jump from Corporate America to Reef Runner Sailing.  Having successfully managed large teams of managers for a Fortune 500 company while creating several small start-up businesses, Jeremy combines those talents and passions to focus on managing Reef Runner Sailing.

Captain Jon

Captain Jon is a native of Panama City, Florida. He's been sailing the beautiful waters of St. Andrews Bay for many years. A trained automotive refinish technician, Jon worked for many years painting and refinishing cars and now sails full-time on his classic sailing vessel, Deja Vu. Capt. Jon runs Reef Runner charters - and loves meeting new people and teaching them the basics of sailing. You can often see Jon heading out into the bay with his dog Gemma on the bow!

Captain Erica

Erica grew up on the waters of Midcoast Maine. As the granddaughter of a classic wooden boatbuilder, being on the water is in her blood. She helps to run the Reef Runner Sailing office and joins her husband, Capt. Jeremy, on live-aboard classes.
